Welcome to EFISC-GTP Aisbl

The European Feed and Food Ingredient Safety Certification Aisbl (EFISC-GTP) is the result of the certification schemes EFISC and GTP joining forces, with the support of the European feed/food ingredient sector organisations COCERAL, FEDIOL, Starch Europe, EBB and Euromalt .

EFISC-GTP Aisbl manages and promotes both the EFISC and GTP certification schemes.

The EFISC-GTP certification schemes cover the collection, transport, storage, trading and industrial manufacturing of safe feed and food ingredients.

The aim of the certification schemes is to provide safe feed/food ingredients and hence to support safety throughout the food chain up to the consumers by making the best use of the sector's experience and expertise. Furthermore, a harmonised assurance scheme positively contributes to fair trading practices and to the free movement of feed and food ingredients  within the EU market and third countries. The EU wide implementation increases transparency, improves efficiency and customer confidence.

Therefore the EFISC-GTP schemes provide guidance to traders, transporters, storage keepers, collectors and manufacturers on how to establish and implement their own feed/food safety management system in accordance with the relevant EU and National legislation. The schemes include requirements for the management system, (operational) prerequisite programmes, risk control (hazard analysis critical control points), documentation, withdrawal and traceability.

A transparent, solid and independent third party certification system is in place resulting in a uniform and harmonised verification of the schemes' implementation at operators' level by the licensed certification bodies.
