WelcomeThe European Regulation on Feed Hygiene (183/2005) sets up hygiene and safety requirements for the whole feed chain – this includes feed materials. This Regulation also promotes the establishment of codes of practice in the feed chain. Feed materials play an important role in the feed and food chain and have to be 100% safe. Therefore the members of AAF and Fediol, representing 65 % of the feed materials production in the EU, have decided to develop such a code together. This code, developed by the industry for the industry, provides a harmonised standard for the feed materials operators in the EU Member States, a high level of feed materials safety, removal of trade barriers caused by different standards resulting in an improved product flow and last but not least increased transparency and customer confidence. The Code is a public document from which its content can be freely followed by any feed materials operator. Running side by side, a parallel and independent certification system has been developed by EFISC Asbl. Participation in the EFISC auditable system is based on voluntary commitment. The EFISC Code is certified by independent certification bodies, and run by the EFISC Asbl association. EFISC Asbl. E-mail: Tel : (32) 2 7619472 |
